Compare Gas & Electricity

Keeping tabs on what you’re paying for your energy bills makes common sense, but it can often fall under the radar in busy everyday life. However, if you feel like you’re paying too much for your gas and electricity bills, the first thing you should do is to compare tariffs.

It may sound like an arduous process, but with quick online forms, it can take just a matter of minutes to find out whether you’re paying over the odds for your gas and electricity. If you are, it could be time to change supplier.

Oddly, despite tricky financial times, changing energy suppliers is something us Brits seem to have an aversion to. According to Ofgem -

the energy industry regulator – most of us in the UK have never switched our gas and electricity suppliers. However, with energy prices ever increasing, it makes sound financial sense to compare gas and electricity tariffs and make sure you’re on the best rate for you.

To help keep costs down, consider the following –

  • - Sign up for gas and electricity from the same provider. This means you’ll be entitled to a dual fuel discount.
  • - Ditch the paper bills that come through your letterbox and opt to manage your account and bills online – this can often mean more discounts.
  • - Pay by direct debit. This means you won’t be stung by a big bill, but will be keeping up with payments as you go along.
  • - Take up incentives from energy suppliers. You can often find enticing offers such as gift vouchers and cashback when you decide to switch your energy supplier.
